Love

 vctoriaahlee:

I have a teacher, a genuinely nice, loving man. He is in his 60’s or around there and his wife is 31. Yes, everyone’s first thought is the age difference. But he overlooked that long ago. He loves her to death. They married about 3 years ago or so.

Almost everyday or every other day, he talks about his wife or something related. He is so caring of her, tending to her every need. He even buys her a Porshe, like really now. Well, other than those little details, he’s about the nicest teacher ever. He is so open minded and considerate. He is the kind of teacher you can talk to almost everything about, and he won’t judge you at all. He’s old, yet he has a youthful soul - always talking to us about hip things haha. He has his morals set - he goes by the book. Even when he’s late to class, he gives himself detention! Like really… his honesty and good intentions are what make him so genuine.

Just this past weekend, his wife had a seizure and was sent to the hospital. Only then did she confess to him all her secrets. All those long trips back home were really her trips to restock her inventory of drugs. She had been an alcoholic and drug addict, ever since a little after they married. Behind his back she had been lying and going against all her promises and words. He trusted her so much to have been so blind not to see the signals. He said, “I am in love with this woman. I had been so gullible to believe her.” To add on to the drug abuse and alcohol dependency, she had also confessed to sleeping with other men. This is what crushed him the most.

While telling this to us, he held in all his anger and tears. Her actions were against all his morals. He asked, “Why did you do it?” and she said, “You didn’t give me enough attention.” Let’s be real now. It’s the drugs talking. How could he not have showed her attention. He basically praised her. He tended to all her needs, talks about her all the time, and does as she pleases. As he told us all this, most of us couldn’t help but cry, even me.

Near the end, someone asked, “Will you two be divorcing?” (what a way to make things better..) and he said, “No, I love this woman. I know she’s done wrong and has gone against my every will, but I will never love another woman the way I loved her. We’re going to work things out and get through things. Things can only get better from here.”

He’s really something special.
